The Annual Best Practices (LEEP) Summer Institute, Northwestern State University

Intensive training dates on NSU campus are June 12-16, 2000 from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. ( Note:  There will be no compressed video session for the 2000 institute.)

Graduate Classes

• SPED 4820: Identification and Evaluation of Young Children During the Developmental Period
• SPED 5350: Parents of Exceptional Children
• For the first time, we are offering a course via the internet which you may take at the same time you take one of the above courses. Therefore, you may take two courses during the summer if one of them is the internet course. The internet course in early intervention is;
• SPED 5370: Methods in Early Intervention

For University credit: $306.25 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE). Partial or Full Tuition Scholarships are available on a first come basis.

LEEP activity fee of $15.00.

Telephone Registration: April 17, through May 30, 2000.

NOTE:  If you have never attended NSU you must apply for admission to NSU through the Graduate College. Call for admissions forms at 357-5851.

NOTE:  If you attended the 1999 LEEP Summer Institute, you do not have to apply for re-admission. If you have not attended NSU in over a year, you must re-apply for admission.

NSU dorm costs are $10.50 per night and Student Apartments are $15.00 per night. (Subject to change). Natchitoches offers fine "Bed and Breakfast" accommodations and a variety of motels. Accommodations for persons with disabilities are available
