Heritage Education—Mini Grants
Program for Teachers – The Heritage Education -
Louisiana Mini Grants Program is looking for creative
teachers to develop curriculum-based heritage
education lessons and activities that use Louisiana's
historic structures, archeological sites, and cultural
landscapes as content. A
maximum of $2,500 is available for selected projects.

Cultural Resources Diversity
Program Marks Its Fifth Year – Hyun Hee “Shine” Park, an
exchange student from Korea, spent her summer internship
with Heritage Education – Louisiana as a participant in the
National Park Service’s
Cultural Resources Diversity Internship Program.
The December 2003 issue of Heritage Matters

partnered with
Northwestern State University
of Louisiana (NSU), the Louisiana
Division of Archaeology,
the Caddo Nation, and the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s
Natchitoches National
Fish Hatchery to give eighth grade
students the rare opportunity
to visit an archeological
site and learn about ancient
Native American civilizations
in their area.
