The Heritage Education Initiative brings the American experience alive to our children, creating an appreciation and understanding of the peoples, places and traditions that have shaped our nation, through innovative methods of teaching and learning. The mission of the Heritage Education Initiative will be carried out through:

         Working collaboratively with local, state and federal education departments to enhance
         existing curriculum related to American culture and heritage.

         Instilling a sense of stewardship for American’s cultural resources in the nation’s grade,
         middle, and high school students.

         Partnering with public sector agencies, non-profit organizations, and private enterprise to
         develop innovative printed, audio-visual and web-based teaching and learning materials.

          Identifying and supporting high quality teachers in creating model lessons plans,

          materials, and educational delivery systems.
